About the Orange County Superior Court

The Orange County Superior Court, or alternatively the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, is the third largest trial court system in California and the fourth largest in the nation. It serves the third most populous county of California, with a resident population of over 3.1 million living and working in the 948 square miles that make up Orange County. The OC Superior Court is a unified state trial court that has evolved into a data-driven organization that provides online case search tools for court and public records.

In its mission statement, the Court states that it is dedicated to serving “the public by administering justice and resolving disputes fairly, efficiently, and expeditiously.”

The Orange County Superior Court has jurisdiction to hear all matters, including matters regarding limited civil, unlimited civil, probate, mental health and elder abuse, dependent adult abuse restraining orders, small claims, unlawful detainer (landlord tenant), civil harassment, juvenile delinquency, dependency, family law, domestic violence, criminal, and traffic issues. The Court currently has 124 judges.

In order to fulfill its mission and to serve its population, the OC Superior Court operates out of the following six different locations: the Central Justice Center at 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, CA 92701, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-6878; the Lamoreaux Justice Center at 341 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-6878; Harbor Justice Center Newport Beach Facility at 4601 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, CA 92660, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-5400; the North Justice Center at 1275 North Berkeley Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92832, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-5900; the West Justice Center at 8141 13th Street, Westminster, CA 92683, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-5900; and the Civil Complex Center at 751 West Santa Ana Blvd, Santa Ana, CA 92701, which can be reached by calling (657) 622-6878.

The Central Justice Center handles traffic, minor offenses, criminal, unlimited civil, limited civil, small claims, probate/mental health matters, and elder/dependent adult restraining order issues. The Lamoreaux Justice Center hears cases involving juveniles, family law, and domestic violence. The Harbor Justice Center Newport Beach Facility handles traffic, minor offenses, criminal, civil, and small claims matters. The North Justice Center can hear cases involving traffic, minor offenses, criminal, limited civil and small claims, while the West Justice Center can hear cases regarding traffic, minor offenses, and criminal issues. The Civil Complex Center can hear a variety of issues, but does not handle traffic cases.
